Broken Sash Window Cord
A broken sash window cord or snapped sash cord can and does happen. And, if your window has brass chains instead of cords, it is also possible that these can break.
Over time the sash cord will wear down and may snap. Broken sash cords prevent sash weights counter balancing the sashes, and the problem needs to be addressed.
If this happens to your sash cord, it can be rectified in a few hours.
Phone Advance Glazing and one of our sash window technicians will call to your home and replace the broken sash cord with a new light, medium or heavy rope. Our technician will quickly remove the top and bottom sash to access the cord and weight system via the pocket. They will then attach the new cord to the weight and sashes, before reinstalling the sashes.
This job should take a couple of hours to complete.

Advance Glazing Window Care Tip:
We recommend taking this opportunity to draft proof the top and bottom sash, which would take about another extra hour to complete.
